The Rotary Club in Calne have set the meet a week later this year. Their email address is calnemotorcyclemeet@gmail.com if anyone needs a booking form. Here is extract from an email I received from them:- 'This is to let you know that the Calne Motorcycle Event 2012 will be on Saturday 28 July. It is a week later than this year simply because the Town Hall has already been booked for another event on the 21 July. We do hope you will all want to visit us again and make this the truly stupendous event it has always been. I attach a booking form to this email which I would be very pleased if you would complete and return as soon as possible. As ever, we will attempt to put you on the same site as previous years, but cannot give you cast-iron guarantees; however, the sooner you book, the better your chances..... Best wishes and many thanks from Calne Rotary for being such splendid visitors to our town. Sue Tabor' |

Sue Tabor sent another email seeking support for the event itself. "In the meantime, at a recent meeting, it was suggested that maybe some clubs would be willing to buy some advertising space in our programme. You may be aware that this year we are organising the event with the help of the local Lions Club. One of the reasons for this is that some of our loyal Rotarians are unable to get involved this year. The other is that we need some new ideas on how to improve and more importantly fund the event. As you know all profits from the event are donated to charity, with one of them always being a bikers-related charity. In the past we have had a degree of sponsorship from local businesses, who have paid for advertising space in the programme. This sponsorship is drying up for all the obvious reasons. As a result, it seemed reasonable to ask both the bikers and the stallholders if they would like an advertisement in the programme, for which they might also like to pay! If you were able and willing to buy some space, please let me know and I will forward further information." |

I have family in the area who have visited the show before and said how good it is, i might even go on my 750 twin G1. |

 I received this email from Sue at the Calne Rotary Club this morning. When we went on the ride-out a couple of years ago they had set up on the lawn in front of the ornate gardens, a rock band, beer tent (I think it might have been Wadworths) and a cherry picker which took great arial pictures of the whole assembly of bikes. A great end to a great day. Pam ******** Good morning all Here's the news I hope you have all been waiting for! We have just been informed that Lord Lansdowne has agreed to a ride-out to Bowood House from 4-6.00pm at the end of the Meet here in Calne. There will refreshments available up there and of course lots of photographs to be taken. I hope as many of you as possible will be able to enjoy this conclusion to our event.
