I have a KZ650 C4 which is completely original and in good condition (10K miles) which I would like to return it to almost concourse condition. Unfortunately, I have no experience ofworking on bikes and have always engaged a garage. I could do this now but, would prefer some greater ownership. Therefore, I am looking for someone who has an interest and bike experience who would be willing to help me strip and then rebuild once parts have been cleaned, re-painted, re-coated etc. I am near Aylesbury. Clearly, I am happy to agree payment but was wondering if anyone, or knows of anyone, who maybe interested. If not looks like back to a garage for the work. Any recommendation on who to engage on this route would be welcome too! |

Just my thoughts. The bikes has only 10K mi and looks clean, at least on the picture. What makes you think it needs restoring? The carbs may need cleaning, some new gaskets. Other wearable parts may be safer to replace, because of age.,,new tires comes to mind....., but in general the bike may only need refreshening, and some cosmetics. If engine runs well, don't touch it. Edited by hugojose, Aug 26 2010, 07:46 PM.

Thanks for the response. It is only the cosmetic parts I wanted to have restored, so I don't want to strip the engine down just out of the frame. |

why dont you do it yourself? dont learn anything by taking it to a garage, (only how to open your wallet) i havent seen any pictures, but its only nuts and bolts. even if you took it apart got the frame powdercoated and put it back together . leave the hard stuff to other people, could even send your carbs away for ultrasonic cleaning. im in northampton not a million miles away if you need any help give me a shout
