Can't shift into first gear!

Hey guys...I own an 03 636 and for some reason I am having trouble shifting into first. The other day I left for work and pulled out of the driveway like I always do. Got to the stop sign and she wouldn't go back into first. I took off in second and got to another stop sign and it did go in first. I am now having this problem everyday. It goes in sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I find it weird because when it goes into first I can still push down quite a bit on the shifter as if it was going to switch to another gear which it never did before. Any suggestions?

best to try adjust it before stripping it as above , as if its dragging it will causee this problem , drag is the oposite to slip and means the clutch is not disengaging properly and can be caused by poor adjustment , stretched cable or a clutch fault , first 2 are quick and easy to look at and free
