Hello All , I,ve just bought a 1987 GTR Concours a credit to its previous lady owner. :441 . Off to France on it soon, for a week and looking forward to our trip. Just done 400 miles in the last few days trying it out and am very happy with it. Quite a different ride to my 1989 ZX10 B2, and I like it.
The current tyres fitted are Azaro . Front AV45 ST , 120/70 ZR 18. Rear AV 46 ST 150/ 80 ZR 16. Both about a third worn.
Over the last few 200 miles I noticed the front end being a little vague, more so on bends in the Welsh hillsides. Also a handlebar wobble if I decellerate and let go of the bars at 40 mph ~ somehow I,ve got to test it.! Very slight weave about 90 / 100 mph. I know its a tourer, but has anyone else found this on their gtr's ? Tyre pressures set at Fr 36 psi, Rear .41..psi.Front forks were 6.0. Front fork air pressure is now at 8.5. How high can I safely go on this pressure setting. Fork oil ok.
Any positive info on which tyres I should go for next. Bearing in mind this is my holiday touring bike.
Finally, whats the fuel usage I can expect whilst touring at say, 70 to 85 mph..
Many thanks , Dave , N Wales..
