After about 50 miles on my Vulcan 2000, my butt is asleep. I tried a gel cushion but, did not have good results. Has anyone with this problem actually replaced their oem bike seat with an after market seat that actually worked for trips?

hi, this a while since you posted your question about vn2000 seats but I hope it helps. Change your seats by all means, the originals are ridiculously hard, but stay away from the Kawasaki touring seats they are virtually no better. The longest I can last on them, is one hour and then need a good rest before ridding again (approx. half an hour). It realy does spoil a great bike, not to mention a great waste of money.
