Hi all,
firstly im new to this board so sorry if this subject has been done to death. But, im about to buy my first kwaka and was after some advise from the more experianced rider than me on the differences between a G2 and a J1 ninja 600, apart from the obvious of course. Basically how different they are to ride on the road as a weekend toy? Things to look out for when buying, used prices, characteristics of the bike etc...

Any advise will be greatly appricated and thanks for taking the time out to read!

The ZX6R J1 has a lighter crank giving the engine a bit more top-end power & a much livelier feel - the lighter crank of the J also improves the handling.
The G2 sub-frame is welded to the frame whereas the J1 is bolted & easier to replace if the original gets bent in a crash.
The J1 has grease points on the rear suspension linkages so you don't have to strip the rear end to lube it - nice touch.
The J1 is an all round improvement on the G1 & G2 models & still a great sports bike ten years after it was first sold.
