Member Posts: 4 Group: Members Member #12,419 Joined: April 9, 2010	I am trying to restore a kz500 that's been sat for a fair few years but i am having a problem finding info and spares. silly question time, is a kz500 the same as a z 500? The engine number starts kz500 c and the frame kz5008 i have found bits about 500 a and b but i am struggling to find the info i need. Any help would be appreciated as until i am sure what i have got i cant even be certain that i have the right manual or am ordering the right bits. this seams to be such a stupid thing not knowing what model the bike is but i know 2 of the previous owners and so far they can't seam to agree what it is between them.Is there any where i can check the numbers and find out that way? Cant look at the log book as it's held by my sister and she hasn't seen it since she moved house 5 years ago. Thanks for reading and i promise my next question won't be quite as daft .

100 MPH Posts: 186 Group: Members Member #664 Joined: October 7, 2006	Hi Stu, KZ500 will be the American name, over here it will just have been the Z500. Frame starting KZ... is right as far as I'm aware. You can find parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com Go to owner info on the home page and choose parts diagrams from the drop down. Just put in the year of manufacture/ registration and it will give you a list of the bikes for that year. Hopefully it will give you some information. For parts in the UK try Cornwall Kawasaki, they list both price and availability. Good luck with it!! Gary.
