Hi .. I see your original post was from ages ago so you must be sorted by now but, just in case you welded over and still need new pipes there are a few options for replacements.... DK Breakers (boats as being the biggest breakers in the UK) based in Staffordshire. I've been up there and they have lots of second hand sets of pipes and cans on the shelf, in varying states. Best to visit to see for yourself the condition before you buy ..or if too far at least ask them to email you a picture of the best ones - don't just go by their opinion. Guy called Karl in there is v helpful. Complete set about £250 so less just for pipes... BUT if it's nice new shiny clean ones you want.. 2 more options: 1)Kawasaki dealers in Cradley Heath, West Midlands have brand new ones but at a brand new very expensive price...works out nearly a grand for complete set ...can dig out the prices thety quoted me for each thing but worked out about £250 per can/ per pipe etc. 2)Bike I bought had full brand new set put on in 1997 by Chris Self Motorcycles Ltd in Ipswich for £636 incl installation so may be worth asking about how much to just supply pipes. If you are interested and get stuck I may be able to dig out some tel nos for you. |

There is a full new stainless twin exhaust system on ebay now for £300 i think. I have a 4-1 system on mine but i'm going to see if an aftermarket one off a GPX600 will fit as the pipes are arranged "flat" instead of in a square to improve ground clearance. Got to liberate the noise, the only difference between the ZL and the GPZ/X once the exhaust is changed for a 4 - 1 is the carbs are slightly smaller on the ZL to give better fuelling at lower RPM. The rest of the engine internals are the same. |
