:991 Jan 29, 2007 Winston-Salem, NC, my 90 year old barn burned down (30X40), two story. within its walls resided a 20X20 motorcycle shop...complete with tools and equipment, my daily rider 2001 Yamaha FZ1, my brother's mint '81 GPz 550, '84 zx9, neice's 2004 EX250 custom pink w/ purple metal flake Ninja...she got for Christmas...never ridden yet, customer's '83 Yamaha XJ750 Seca...almost completed refurb, (2) Yamaha XJ750 Secas...in various stages of refurb, Yamaha SX1100...awaiting refurb, 1969 Yamaha DS6 250...awaiting refurb, 1972 Kawasaki S2 350 completely stock, running, and the biggest loss...my 1972 Kawasaki S2 350 cafe' racer, Thomaselli clip ons, rear sets, stainless Basanni "shorty" expansion chambers, custom made "dolphin nose" fiberglass fairing, alloy wheels, extra frame, suspension, and engines...18 ATM machines (self employed ATM tech, what I do when I'm not riding!!) All shop inventory of parts and supplies for business...1 goat, we have animals here...family heirlooms stored upstairs, etc etc. The barn is 100 feet back from the house, but the fire was so hot and the wind blowing towards the house, melted the vinyl siding on the house...10 minutes longer for the fire dept to set up and the house would have caught fire too. ps it was 17 degree at 5am that morning!
We thank God, no one was injured...it's just stuff that can (hopefully) be replaced.
Here's the problem. My insurnace "business rider" requires me to inventory everything and assess purchassed and replacement cost on everything that can be identified). I have ATM mfg. price list for my ATM inventory, but nothing for the vintage bikes lost.
Any ideas on obtaining fair market pricing on these vintage bikes and parts?
