Title: Purchase - 2005 -1600 Classic

Just looking to purchase a 1600 in Ontario. Is there any damage done to the engine if you drive the bike with Vance and Hines pipes and a free flow air box without having a Power Commander? Just the stock bike otherwise. Need to drive it 6 or so hours to get it home.

Thanks.
Mike

I've had some folks who changed out their pipes and did not notice any changes. Maybe a gain in fuel consumption by a small margin. The power commander does help but check with a your local Kawasaki dealer's mechanic.

Mike,

I have had Vance & Hines true duels and a Hyper Charger air system on my 2004 1500 Nomad for 24,000 miles now and I have a total of 55,000 miles on the bike. I did not install a Power commander system on it. The bike runs fine. Just make sure that you leave the baffles inside of the pipes to give the motor a little bit of back presure.

Hope this helps you,
