Title: Looking once again!!
Description: Opinions

I am in the market for a new motorcycle. I bought a 2003 Honda ST1300 back in 2004 that I sold in 2005 to a gentleman much older than myself...I am 48 years old. I once again feel the need for a bike. I was looking at buying a 2006 1000 Concours. Anyone out there have any recommendations on this model? I was also wondering what kind of gas mileage it gets? I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with an elevation of over 6000 feet. Would there be any carburator issues? Maybe too rich or lean? I am full of questions but I find that asking current owners questions, they would be totally honest in their responses. I was also considering either a 2007/2008 KLR650. I once owned a Yamaha XT500 way back when I lived in southern California and the thumper torque is awesome. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Paul

I've heard of older Concours being hard on camshafts. If you talk to other owners, inquire about the cams. You could also try an older, established Kawasaki dealer or the latest edition of a tear-down manual for more info. Could have been just a matter of poor maintenance on some owners' part. I hope it isn't true, but be cautious.
