I'm Bert Stegall, currently of N. MS. just north of Oxford.
I learned to ride on my 1st bike, a '61 Goldstar and have had a '69 and '70 H1 and a '76 LTD and some other brands along the way.
Bought a clean '82 GPZ550 last month after 6 years with no bike.
This is the only bike I've had with a digital instrument cluster and the low electrolite level warning is always on due to a new sealed battery with no place for the sensor..
Is there an easy way to trick the sensor so I won't have the distraction of the flashing lights?
Thanks for any help
Bert
Did the sensor used to fit into one of the cells on the old battery? Since electrolyte is a conducter, maybe joining the two contacts on the sensor would extinguish the light.
There aren't two wires on the end of the sensor.
It's a plastic cap with one wire inside and has a one post connector going toward the gauge.
I'm hesitant to give it 12v for fear of harming something.
