I remember that they remained popular after they were out-classed because they were relatively comfortable but scary fast , not THE fastest but still fast. I almost got one a few years ago.

I got one, a C1, rode over 700k's on it yesterday and can still walk today, not many (if any) sub litre bikes can do 170 odd Mph and be comfortable enough to do that many k's in a day.

hiya, yea i ride a 9, my pride n joy, had it 7 years now, still love it, made a few changes, engine standard, apart from k&n, race can, had to have it in 2000 when they re-vamped it, wanted the c1 as soon as they came out, but could'nt commit to it then, its just done 20,000 mls now. nick. :pwq

I recently sold my lovely 9 it were the last model made F2P and boy was that a top bike i took her up to 175 one sunday morning early and with the comfort side to i feel it a greatly underated bike, it had no problems keeping up with my mates on R1s and they were little bit jealous i think of the performance and ride comfort, i have got myself a new ZX10 now which is an awesome bike, but i wouldnt rule out getting me hands on a 9 again some time down the line. :441
