hi all, :D ,i have joined the site in search of wisdom,or failing that an answer to my nightmare.i have in my possesion a 1990 zephyr which has a fault ( you don`t say ).it goes like this,if i charge the battery up to full ,attach it to said machine,leave it for 4 or 5 days battery is then flat,what would cause that ? :lkv any help greatly appreciated,cheers all ,inky, i`m off for a cold one :267

cheers lads,just had it checked as it won`t charge at all now,both correct ,battery d.o.a. any idea of the best type of battery to use ? cheers,inky

Whatever you buy, initial charging should be done at no more than 1 amp, which is 1/10th the battery's capacity. Exceeding this will overheat and warp the plates and you'll be looking for a new battery next year. If you buy it at Wally Mart or something like it don't let them charge it for you, DIY with a low current charger.
