I have recently purchased a 1980 Z250 twin which needs restoring, I am quite new to this so any help and advice would be much appreciated also any information on finding replacement parts would be great. I will keep you all informed with my progress as the bike comes along!

I bought one of those for my daughters 3rd bithday (20yrs ago). Hope you can find the help and parts you need.
As for looking for spares, check dealers and accessories section on my site, you'll find plenty of scrap yards as well as new part dealers.
Good luck.

OK m8, easily done. a few difference between the old and the older ones, but it won't be too hard to handle.

Hi, just finished stripping the bike down and the frame is ready to be powder coated but I am having a little trouble removing the centre stand, any one know if this can actually be removed?

Are you in need of headers, mufflers or both?

hi, i am having problems finding new fork tubes for my bike so i was wondering if anyone could tel me if the tubes for the following bikes will fit.
KAWASAKI Z500 B1 & B2
KAWASAKI Z750 L2
KAWASAKI Z1, Z900, Z1000, Z900, GPZ500S
KAWASAKI GT750 P1-P2
KAWASAKI KE175 D
i have also found new forks for a Kawasaki Z 250 LTD for cheap, would theese possably fit?
thanx for the help

Check the diameter of the fork legs.
mesure then length of the complete fork leg when not under load.
If the diameter is the same then it the chosen leg will fit into the yolk. and if the length is close to the same lenght, it should be ok, as long as you can get the brake caliper to fit your new leg, so you'll have to mesure or better still borrow the leg to see they can fit.
One last thing to check, the mudguard (or fender)
You'll have to get the mesurements before you'll be able to be 100% sure.
Think the z250 custom would be the best to check though, same company, same weight.
Hope you get it sorted.

Hi depends on the caliper type, if your pads are on 2 poles with the mounting plate, these 2 poles slide in and out of the caliper alowing take up of the pads , in effect the piston pushes the assy to the back pad, you nead to remove the caliper , then pads free up the 2 rods in the body grease and replace, this is providing the piston is moving also,
if this is siezed this will nead taking out very carefully cleaning and reasembling mind not to damage the seals use a lille vasaline or clean fluid to aid assembly, kozzy

thanx for all the help on the brakes, it ended up being a combination of things including the floating brake pad being stuck on the pins but all is good now, just waiting on a couple of last parts to get the bike running!!
