New to road bikes, and here. Fed up with sitting in my car on the way to Ascot every day, so did my full licence.

Just bought an ER500, R- Plate with 6000 miles on it for £550! Result I thought.

Only bad points, 2 small dents in the tank, and the last owner appears to have polished or repainted the swing arm, as when I ride it I get silver all over the inside of my boots!

Only had the bike a few days, and already looking at what mods can be done!

A few 'scars' are to be expected on a bike that age,especially on a bike that most new riders cut their teeth on.
You could try laquer over the paint to stop it rubbing off.

Just been advised by a mate to rub a cloth covered in petrol over the swing arms, take off the 'soft' paint.

Good buy or not tho?!?

You would pay around 900 2 years ago in that condition,so IMO not a bad deal. :pwq
