Title: z1000
Description: vehicle down sensor

HI, Anybody out there got a 03 z1000 or that model, If so read on,
I have a z1000 myself, In france last year I broke down on my first day of touring due to the vehicle down sensor It's a small black box that sits just to the left of the rear shock ,It turned out to be full of water ,thus causing the pendulum to stick thinking the bike was on it's side, and shutting down the fuel injection system, It cost about 180 quid to fix at kawazaki, even the dealers in france were uncertain to what was wrong ,and it took a further two days back in England to find the problem, the reason why it took so long is :423 that kawazaki have never come across this problem before on the z thou, and it was the only thing they had'nt tried, after fitting the new sensor I was advised to cover the whole thing in vasilene,I hope this is useful information.
