Hi my dear old zxr struggles to rev over 8k , head gasket okay , oil good no smoke, carbs all cleaned , has anyone had similar, its pointing towards the petrol pump ? but thought I would ask prior to tracking down a new one :256

My H1 does something similar, once it gets to 8000 it seems to take an age to get past then when it does the needle flies round like its a two stroke thats just hit its powerband. I think it might just be a characteristic of the engine, with all the power stuck at the end of the rev range. Mine has a problem at around 3500 too, when the fuelling goes all 'fluffy', I end up having to yank the throttle to get past it as quickly as possible to stop the bike jerking about. Its cleared by 4000 though.
