Title: KX250 broken clutch swivel casing
Description: HELP!!!

Hi,posted this in the tech talk section first but hoping for a response from other weekend warriors who enjoy playing in the mud.
Riding my '93 KX250 at the weekend when the chain came off, wrapped around the front sprocket and ripped off the case saver and broke the case where the clutch swivel and its bearings are mounted on the outside of the engine casing. I managed to find some of the housing in the mud hoping it could be welded back on to repair it. Ive know hit a blank in that the local bike repairers Ive phoned only seem to want to sell me a new/secondhand engine or rebuild mine with new casings at a price that would probably mean scrapping the bike as its obviously quite old. Has any body out there had a similar problem repaired and how did you do it, Ive trawled the net and seen a site that sells a brazing system that claims to be able to repair alloy and magnesium alloy casings, its listed in the states but none of the machine shops around my area in the UK seem to have heard of it, anybody tried this or a similar system as Idont realy want to scrap a bike or good running engine for a piece of snapped casing about the size of my finger!! :074
