Ive put an ZX10B engine into aZZr1100c chassis and fitted ZZr carbs and air box.The bike wont start,i'm using a car battery as bike's is dead and easy start didnt help,just backfire.Any ideas PLEASE :blink:

First question - was the ZX10B engine a runner before you dropped into the ZZR chassis?
Is the motor actually spinning over? Or is it just clicking at the starter solenoid?

Also - pull a plug and try starting it with the plug out to see if you are getting a spark. It could be that you have the coils connected the wrong way round.
If you are getting a spark - are you getting petrol throgh from the carbs?
I am sure someone else will chime in with other suggestions soon. :)

Well i've been told red to green on coils and i had that wrong.Had one then all plugs out against head and no sparks.Both coils dead at same time,is this likely and after crash engine did run.It turns over well, sometimes sounds like its locking up!! :blink:

Are you sure the car battery is OK - are you using it in the car with jumper cables? If so I would also have the car running when I was trying to jump the bike. This will allow the battery to be boosted by the cars alternator.

I wouldn't have thought that both coils would be dead from a crash _ it is possible to test them with a multi - meter.

How long was the motor out of action - and did you make sure it had correct oil level on installation.?

I have taken pickup cover off and used a spanner on the end of the crank to turn a motor over when I thought it may have a problem. This allows you to go in both directions and to go slowly and feel for ant tightness etc.
