I was trying to jump start this bike and got it running, then it died, then I screwwed up and hooked the cables up backwards and turned the key on. Now I have no electrical power at all. I completely removed the battery and have checked all the fuses(all OK) Still nothing when I switch the key on. I have charged the battery and put it back in. What else could be fried?

did u check the main fuse??
its usually hidden somewhere?

Yes, checked the main fuse, it is a 15A and located opposite side of battery from the fuse box.

Theres usually a 30 amp one knocking around...not on display either. have a good hunt for it. Check to make sure the Earth lead is connected up right tight (Ive seen these burn through! check for continuity throught it. Fuses can look ok, but unless you use a tester/multimeter you sometimes just cant tell...... :multi

yeah the 30 amp is the main fuse its usually hidden under a plug somewhere...... its deep down in my 07 z750

The fuse should in theory protect the rest of the electrics, But Have a quick check of the wires aswel, just incase any have melted
was there any burning smell after this happened
Hope you get it fixed OK, Ken

Thanks, I found the 30A by following the + cable to the starter solenoid and with quite a bit of frustration was able to open a connector without damaging it and there it was BURNT. Started immediately.
