Title: GPZ1000RX misfire

GPZ_G - June 10, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
Hi folks

I own a GPZ 1000 RX (and a ZZR 1100 D1) which has developed a misfire and is spitting fuel back out of one of the carbs  . Has anyone any ideas as to what could be causing this fault ??

I noticed a GPZ for sale on ebay recently that had the same problem so I am wondering if it is a fault that occours with these bikes.

The bike is a 1987 A1 model.

Thanks for any help / advice you can offer.

Hi Gary, could it be a chipped inlet valve, maybe a compression test would be worthwhile.

hi there just wondering if you had fixed the problem with the carbs, if not then try this take the carbs of strip them down and replace the diaghrams give them a good clean and then put them back on the bike you must re-balance them. i had the same problem with mine and that solved the problem. good luck :999

Hi irontrike1.
I have not had time due to work commitments tbh (also buying a ZZR1100 has not helped :D )

But hopefully within the next week I shall have/find/make time to try these ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Gary
