I am interested in putting new pipes on my 06 1500 classic, but I am not sure how much it will entail. I don't want them to get damaged or discolored, so should I change the intake and put on a power commander? I have heard both arguments, first stating that exhaust is irrelevent as long as the intake isn't changed, also heard that anytime you change the exhaust you should retune the bike. Any opinions would be helpful! Looking at the shogun long pipes by the way.

I have a 06 900 lt. I am being told that if you change the pipes you need to get a new air breather and then a fuel pack to change the air/gas mixture. The bike will not run right if you don't do this.
