Have just paid deposit on new 2006 z1000, never riden one and am trading in my GSX-R 6. It was cheap but now not sure if I have done the right thing, any assurance appreciated

Assurance?... well if you insist! B)
Congratulations!...
You've just bought a bike with the character and reliability that no other motorcycle manufacturer has come close to since the inception of the internal combustion engine powering two-wheels!
:kawa
p.s. Seriously, only you will know if you've made a mistake when you ride the z1000.
All i can say is, give it a fair trial, don't immediately right it off as a bad buy just because it requires a different riding style. Which it inevitably will need. :D

Cheers, getting the bike on Friday cant wait . Cheapest price from taz motorcycles if anyone interested, £200.00 cheaper than nearest quote. Only catch is it has to be blue, not the colour I would like but the black one is £700 more, like it but not that much.

Larger screen and tail tidy first things on shopping list. Good to hear possitive feedback. Got 150 mile ride back from dealers tomorrow, so will find out if the saddle is as hard as some say.
