Trying to sell the Mrs's ZZR600 See advert here but it has a few scratches on it where she dropped it and i think that's putting people off so I thought fine I'll repair the damage and re-paint it myself. But can I find the correct colour paint anywhere? I tried the local car shops to see if there were any near matches there, there wasn't. Halfords told me they can mix any colour paint i want as long as I have the paint code. So after spending ages searching the net and coming up empty handed I sent an e mail off to Kawasaki UK to ask what the paint code for her bike is and this is the response i got:

Dear Mr Smith,

Further to your e-mail dated 5th March 2008.

We are able to confirm that paint codes are not available from Kawasaki as this information is not released by the factory in Japan.

Our best suggestion would be for you to contact a local paint supplier/manufacturer within your area who should then be able to match the colour directly from your machine.

I am sorry that we are unable to provide the information which you have requested on this occasion.

to which i replied:

Thanks for your reply Simon, but to be honest I'm a bit shocked. Do you mean to tell me that it is not possible for me to purchase the correct colour touch up paint from Kawasaki or any of their dealers?

And got this response:

It is with regret that the supply of paint is not available from Kawasaki directly. However, most UK paint suppliers should be able to identify the colour of your machine and produce a quantity of paint.

Un-bloody-believable! Anybody know what the paint code(s) for this bike are, I'd love to know. It's a '98 ZZR600 in a two tone plum and silver colour scheme, see below.
