coming into london along the A2 and got hit by a car coming out of side turning :o . a part from a squashed foot (thanks to the boots) :D i was ok. the driver said £200 dont go through insurance. i said no and contacted my insurance company.
the damage was the gear lever snaped a lower crack on fairing and a oil leak. i now find that i have £200 access to pay. so should i have taken his cash? and do i fix it myself or go to the dealer either way its going to cost me.

Hi, if this guy has admitted responsiblity then go through the insurance.
You shouldn't have to pay any excess as your insurance company will claim any costs back for you including any compensation for your injuries, damage to your bike, and any damage to your riding gear.
Also beware, I accepted a payout to get my bike fixed when I was knocked off it last year, I had all the cosmetic work done profesionally only to have the clutch basket shatter on the first ride after. at which point I was on my own as I had accepted their first offer.
Get it to a dealer, claim for your injuries and teach the stupid ba****d a lesson.
Good Luck.

As already stated, you should have no costs associated with this claim as your claiming against the other parties insurance.

did he give you his name and address or did you get his car reg if so report the b*****d to the cops another f**** on the road with no insurance that also means no mot or tax but it's the other road users that has to pay, get the repair's done at a garage and claim on your insurance if you are short of cash but your policy will go up

Unlucky mate, hate uninsured drivers. However all is not lost. First off go to the old bill, IF he has any insurance they will be able to tell you who it's with from the insurance database - he might be insured but just doesn't want you claiming?
If he is uninsured then you can still claim from the uninsured losses fund, the old bill should be able to give you smoe info or ask your insurance company - if you have legal cover then maybe use this to personally sue the guy who did it.
Whatever happens you shouldn't be totally out of pocket - good luck.
