Title: new (to me) zzr1200

Hi
I picked up my little baby last week and have put a couple of hundred miles on it checking it out, and I have to say that it is amazing. The other half even came on the back for a couple of hours on sunday up on Dartmoor. Her only complaint was that she felt the seat was a bit on the hard side. I got to agree with her as we were only on the bike for 2 hours ......dont fancy an all day job at the mo.
I looked at corbin seats on the net and they are a little on the expensive side so i was thinking about getting a couple of gell pads....anyone tried them ?
The only other thing i had a problem with was getting it on the center stand. It is about 25kg heavier than any other bike i have owned but it cant be that hard can it ?............i gave up........any tips ?
Other than that it is perfect.......well behaved when you want it to be.....and lots of power if you want it.

Its always good when you get a new bike.
I had problems getting my W650 onto the centrestand,a mixture of lacking practice and stand needing lubrication. No probs now - just keep at it,you'll get there.

hi joey, i too have zzr1200 and im not very tall so centerstand land was a nasty place to be, but with practice and time its very easy to do, stick with it mate it will happen. as for the seats i took the chance and now have a corbin seat( fantastic ) and also have 1 inch risers on the bars , and a slightly taller screen and its perfect for me, its just chews up the miles.

Thanks for the advice
I will keep trying with the centre stand.......must be doing something wrong. I thought of getting some risers as the ride position is not what i'm used too but thought i would give it some time first. At the mo i dont really have any probs but will have to try a bit longer distance and see.
When you put on the risers did you need to change any cables ?
Still in love with the bike......best bike i have ever ridden, although i haven't ridden many modern bikes to compare it to. Beats the hell out of my old GS750....and i thought that was a great bike

the risers are about 1 inch and no you dont change any cables. the only problem you have is cold start with choke... if you move the bars when choke on it knocks choke off but as i dont ride with choke on its not a problem to me. i find it a better position but also have a double bubble screen and think it needs a bit of a taller screen as risers put you "in the line of fire".

Thanks Animal
I think i might have a look on flea bay and see if there are any going cheap. The missus fancies a long weekend in france on the bike so the more comfort the better.
Got a brand new set of shad panniers and racks off flea bay a couple of weeks ago at a very good price. Only problem is that they dont fit with the top box that is already on the bike as it is a Givi so it will have to be one or the other, but they were that cheap i couldnt say no. Either that or I need to learn how to weld
