Hi you 'Classic guys'. I'm a new member who joined to source parts for a ZXR400, but I was one of the first people in UK to own a KZ400. I've just had a look through and the only mention of that engine is from someone in Nebraska with an LTD. What happened? did they all get put in the bin?
I did over 65000 miles on mine and only sold it on because a friend of mine wanted to buy it off me, otherwise I'm sure I would still have it.
It was a great little machine. Took me and my girlfriend (wife) to Spain, France and Belgium, (separate trips) and numerous Cornwall holidays and trips up and down the country, Scotland a few times. And never once broke down.
The only time it did stop on me was when I was using it as a despatch bike in London, forgot to tension the chain, (working too hard) and the loose chain cut through the wiring harness. It wasn't until I had bought a replacement alternator that I discovered the real problem. Connectors and insulation tape were all that were needed to rectify it.
Has anyone still got one that is running?
Would love to hear from you.
Regards, carbman. :D
