Hi I am just rebuilding a 1989 ZXR 750 and want to remove the air intake tubes from fairing to the tank. I am looking to either fit a later tank or fill the holes in the tank I have. If I do this will this cause problem to the running ? :332

i had a bike like this and took the tank off the bike i found that the tubes didnt connect to anything not even the air filter box and as such i assumed that they must just be there to cool the top of the engine, if thats correct removing them could cause overheating but im no expert so dont take my word for it.
