ZXuser - March 19, 2006 08:22 PM (GMT)
Depends on what type of riding you are going to be doing dos'nt it ???

Wizz - March 19, 2006 08:27 PM (GMT)

PILOT POWERS, nice and sticky and dont take to long to warm through,

BT014, good all round tyre with plenty of grip even in the sh*te weather 999

Ive always liked Metzeler's.. Of course I only own old stuff and thats pretty much the only performance tire available in those old sizes. When I get my Turbo finished, I finally get to try some of the 17" radials and see what traction is all about.. 055

Just got myself a new set of treads and ive gone for the new " DUNLOP QUALIFIERS " what a tyre, proper proper sticky and warm up that quick. Better reviews than the pilot powers. :999

i had bridgstones on my FZR600 and 400 and never had any complaints or scary moments
Avons on a CB750FA and it felt like i was gonna die most of the time!! then again all CB's gave that feeling lol, i've had other bikes with Avons and i was never happy with them specially in the wet

the Z650 is on Pirelli's but i've never ridden it so can't really comment

the wifes GPZ has dunlops and have no complaints

i guess it depends how you ride, the average rider would probably be happy with most modern tyres, its when your on the ragged edge all the time its gonna make the biggest difference

Got some road attacks on me ZZr12 and I am really, REALLY impressed with 'em. Nice and sticky, give loadsa confidence and they seem to hold up to high sppeds pretty well, (30 miles @ 150mph+. Any coppers on here, Speedos broke. Must have been, my bike dont go that fast!! :D )

Tinybikerchick - June 2, 2007 10:19 PM (GMT)
There wasn't an option for Mates, so it has to be Bridgstones, thats what I always have on mine, not sure if I'd trust anything else :)

Ok.....hmmmm good tyres... well I did over 70,000 miles (Courier) on Avon storms last year, liked these, good all round performance wet and dry, but was using a set every month changing the rear to a duel compound Michelin. That was on a Yamaha XJ900. On my ZZR1100 (1260) Had Dunlops and Bridgstones, I now have on a Bridgestone 021 on the rear and a 020 on the front, goes round corners like its on rails, found the edge of my tires then backed off a bit. Wears well and is sticky enough to go round bends very quickly.
My mate puy some Metlers racetecs on his machine, awesome confidence at speed, but you had to push hard to keep the heat in them in the wet.
I tried a set on my ZZR600, great for a play, and gave more confidence, bit 2 much at times, not the cheapest of tyre, but fantastic fun...... :multi
