Title: Ninja ZX-6R & Corbin Seats

rocket - August 24, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
Hi All,

I own a 2001 ZX-6R. I do a lot of long distance riding and find the stock seat a real pain in the butt. (pun intended) I also like to ride quite agressively, ie: hanging off in corners. I've heard that as comfortable as Corbin seats are, they make it difficult to hang off the bike as opposed to the stock seat. Has anyone got a Corbin seat and how do they like it? Am I going to have problems hanging off the bike when doing some canyon carving or what?

Thanks,
Rocket

I have a Corbin seat on a 97' ZX-11, as far as staight line riding goes it's pretty good(up to maybe 750-800 miles). For hanging off of in corners I don't have any information on that, except perhalps to say that having owned five different bikes in the last five years and setting all of them up for traveling, changing seats has become a regular thing. If you do change seats and you notice a difference when hanging off don't pass judgement right away(different doesn't always mean bad) Give yourself a chance to get use to it, chances are after awhile you won't even notice whatever it was and you will be more comfortable on those long straight areas between corners.

hi ya,
i have Bagster seat covers on my zx9, no probs hanging off, slight pressure on foot pegs, lift bum of seat, as you do, cant be much different to corbin, being leather material, had mine on there about 6 years now. :D
