Title: Rubber Centre/Side Stand Stoppers

vwsportbug - August 20, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
Just installed a new set of replacement 4 into 4 pipes on my '75 Z1. I'm trying to figure out the best way of installing the little rubber stops that keep the stands from hitting the chrome exhaust pipes. They go in a little hole on the pipes but the rubber nipple on the stopper just will NOT go in the holes. Any tips on how to get these into place the easiest way?

have you tried putting the bungs into boiling water for 5 mins?
this should make them supple enough to allow you to poke them
into place with a small screwdriver.
hope this helps hagrid

IN ADDITION TO HAGRIDS SUGGESTION,TRY A LITTLE BIT OF WASHING-UP LIQUID.
