How did the engine feel when it died? Whas it coughing out smoke and missing etc, or did it just peter out, a bit like when it runs out of juice?
If it just decided to stop it could be a number of things but often it's not major. My money'd be on the reg rec frying the battery and you just running out of spark, or a blocked fuel line maybe. Fairly cheap.
If it smoked and coughed then I'd be speaking to a bank manager.
Take a car and some jump leads, hook them up together to jump start the bike, but leave it charging the bike for 5 mins before trying to start it, just have the car running and wired to the bike. Then give it a go at starting it. If it gets it going but then it conks out 10 mins later then you've got a dead battery and a killer reg/rec too. :kbv
