Title: My new er-6f
Description: 24 March 2007

Today was the day! I picked up my brand new er-6f (black and red).

WOW! How fantastic to ride, except it was bitterly cold, so... thank Oxford for heated grips :711

Of course, I'm keeping the revs down to break the engine in slowly. Only 475 miles to go!!!!

Thanks to all of you who made recommendations. I love the bike and it's even sexier now that it's mine!

The Dorset roads will never be the same... :099

nice one , its a great bike. Had mine about 4 weeks now and i'm able to crank it up little by little. Makes a great sound dont it. I couldnt decide on the colour and went for the blue but still like the black. Enjoy mate, bet you were out today :285

I have got about 400 miles still to break mine in. Mine's blue and it's a bee-yoo-tiful colour; I much prefer it to the black. Anyone with a black bike wants to be Streethawk! :P

I haven't been able to ride as much as I'd like. The day after I got the bike a couple of weeks ago was when all that snow and hail arrived so that was that. Then this weekend when it's been nice and sunny I was away on a break. Part of me enjoyed the holiday with my family but the other part wanted to go home and get riding.

Thank God for the mushrooms I had fitted to the bike because I dropped it the other day. No damage done apart from a teeny tiny scratch on the mushroom. Lucky d***head.

Here's a thing... you'll have noticed how the rev counter and speedo aren't laid out symmetrically; the speedo is below the rev counter. Once or twice I've glanced at the clocks and had to do a double-take because the offset speedo made me think that my balance was off. It's a bit weird and I guess it'll take a bit of getting used to... has anyone else noticed this?

Question... 4000 revs on the motorway gives about 65. That's not enough of a top speed to be comfy. Will pushing to 75 or so give any problem during breaking in? I think I'm going to be commuting on this bike before it's properly broken in so I'd really like to know.

Oh yeah, and the mirrors are rubbish. I'm getting a pair of extenders.

Hi everbody :uqk

First post here.

Had my er6f since April and I used the "wring its neck" method of running in and all is well.
She was a week old when I took her to the Czech republic for a holiday which put 2000 miles on the clock. Had a great time through Germany, they sure know how to build roads especially the twisties. I am just over 5000 miles now and apart from a guy at work forgetting to put his stand down when he got off and scratching my fairing that has been the only down moment of owning her.

Has anyone else run theirs in the same way?

Regards Rod

Hi higgsy,

I did actually read that before I did it as the article confirmed something i had heard many times before.

A long time ago I was a mechanic at a karting track and I used to do somethin similar with our new engines there, all with positive results.

The way I see it, if it goes wrong it's still under warranty.

[B][COLOR=green][SIZE=7][FONT=Arial]just got home after picking my shiny new ER6F up. It's brill

I had to bring it home in the wet which was a shame, and a bit scarry with new tyres and all. But I guess there is gonna be plenty of good times to come!!!! Where do all you er6 owners live??? It would be great to all meet and go on a bit of an ER6 run..... what do ya think????
