what should i ask for in the big service of the 30000 km in the kle 500 i just bought second hand. i changed the chain and oil already should i check the valvs and the carbirateur. Please help i am new in the club and need instructions thanks evrybody.

I assume you are taking it to a dealer? They should know realy what to do, but it wouldn't harm if you asked them to check/adjust the valve clearance and also ask them to balance the carbs. It's only a twin so it shouldn't take them long to do, as for the valve clearance, I'm not sure whether they are screw and lock nut or shims, Kawasakis are normally shims under the 'Bucket' and in most cases the cams have to be removed to get to change the shim :256

The valve clearances are adjusted by lock nut and screw on the KLE 500, Anyone know what the clearances are?

From my owners manual the servicing schedule stops at 18000 miles.

This is a complete list of everything in the manual........

Check the following.

idle speed
Throttle free play
Fuel system
Brakelight switchbrake pad wear
brake fluid check
steering play check
drive chain wear and slackcheck
spoke tightness and rim run out check
all nuts, bolts,fasteners
tyre wear
radiator hoses, connections
valve clearance
-----------------------------------

air cleaner, check or renew
adjust clutch
engine oil and filter change
general lubrication
fork oil change
swing arm pivot, uni-tracklinkage lubricate

------------------------------------------
every 2 years

brake fluid change
coolant change
steering stem bearing lubricate
master cylinder cup and dust seal-replace

every 4 years

brake hoses-replace
fuel hose-replace
