Anybody out there had problems with the frame cracking at the headstock on the Z1000. I personally don't own one but three of my mates do. All have suffered the same problem and all cracked in the same place. I have also heard of some horror stories that the front end has completely snapped off. Two of my mates have been to Kawasaki to have their bikes examined, Kawasaki have admitted that there is a problem in both cases and have offered to replace the frames,but with a labour cost of £600. Does anybody else out there know of this problem and if so had any better results with getting it sorted.

do your friends have the '03 model? i think it was isolated to that year, but i am not for sure.

No they are all 04 bikes so maybe it is isolated to that year but kawasaki haven't been very interested in putting the problem right.

That sucks, go to another dealership, and have them call Kawasaki while you are standing there. I am guessing its under warranty

This guy got his replaced: Frame Replaced By Kawi so maybe its just the dealership
