Title: Z1000a2 front end

petez1 - March 11, 2007 08:17 AM (GMT)
I have owned my 78 Z1000a2 for 20yrs. now decided to put a new front suspension on it, I have a set of ZXR400 USD forks with a homemade triple tree, but are not happy with all the compromises this set up will give me. Any one out there fitted a late model 17in front end on a Z1? Want works but maintains the original ride height? I have a GSX swingarm so intend to fit a 160 17in rear. I want the better suspension and wider tyre choice, better brakes such a set up will give me. Plus it gives me a original suspension for the restoration of my 77 Z1000a1

Have now put suspension upgrade on hold due to finding a Moto-Martin frame kit so I don't have to change my old bike. (I prefer to leave her as the factory made her but something newer would be nice.) Thanks
